Is this the kind of love that you give to God in your life? Also, when you pray perhaps? Somehow, each one of us may be guilty of not having done good enough to enable us to say - "yes". In a way, our answer may be "defensively qualified" like "yes, however. . .". And when praying, do you do so without asking anything in return? That is, you would pray to merely say "thank you". Or is it "thank you Lord! And also Lord, please. . .".
Unconditional Love is not a "I scratch your back and you scratch mine" thing. It may not be perfect but at least, the loving heart should be perfect. If there is in this world where man can strive and reach perfection - he can look at his heart and he will be surprised by what he can do and accomplish.
Life will surely be sweeter.
