God cannot and will never be outdone in generosity. The reason is simple. What one does not have, he cannot give. And everything that one has is from God. The air we breathe, water we drink, food we eat, clothes we wear and shelter we inhabit, all these and others that we have and can have in this world are all because of God's Divine Generosity. Would you now claim to be a generous giver just so you tithe or gave 10% of your earnings to the church? Just so you offered a hungry food to eat or your mere one peso to a beggar? Or perhaps, you sponsored a charity ball or carried out a project for the poor, or aged? Well, all these are good and done in good faith, honestly and sincerely without expecting anything in return, will surely have their merits in heaven. In other words, just go ahead and continue doing good and all for the glory of God. But we are always reminded that when we do so, we do them with humility and for the love of God. We do not carry out deeds which are meant to satisfy our ego, and personal interests. We do them with a beautiful smile and a kind heart. Amen.
