LENT

What does Lent really mean to you? Is it a season of obligations? Is it a period to go on a vacation? Is it a time for general housecleaning? Or is it just another series of events and holidays which do not really have anything significant to you?

Do not live in the past at such period before Christ was born! You are missing a lot if you do. Worst, you may not have the luxury of your remaining time on earth to really benefit from the blessings, graces and benefits of Lent if you continue to ignore it or treat it as if you are merely passing through something routine and ordinary in your life.

Cheer up and be glad that you have life and that you are living and breathing and moving, so on and so forth.

Ti's a season of spiritual renewal and reconciliation. This is the time to conduct a personal reality check. A period to really and truly praise, honor and glorify our Almighty God as well as to thank him for having been and will always be a loving Father, great and merciful.

We show it through an internal declaration of our faith as we pray and go through the sacred exercise of fasting, abstinence and mortification. Of course, we must not only be doing spiritual exercises for ourselves but we do so for the Holy Souls in purgatory. We should live holy lives as we go through life where every moment is a prayer.
