Reflections : Humility

We learned what helping and giving must entail. We learned that every moment should be offered in prayers. But how do we do it? By being arrogant, boastful, showy and self-righteous? Of course not. Many among us have given up our humble side and instead we gave in to our pride and yes, of being proud. Not a single world to give credit to God for what we have.

Veronica was humble enough to approach Christ. She was fearless and unmindful of what others might say. She opened up her heart to at least give Our Lord even a moment of relief from what He has been going through.
Are we humble enough to pause from our busy lifestyle, retreat from the worldly convenience and then calmly allow God to talk to us in silence? We really need to be humble to do this. We need to wipe out our own inequities and transgressions. We must do acts of reparation and reconcile ourselves with God's goodness and generosity. Ah, we need to be humble to do this.

Pray then for the grace of humility and do so with a contrite heart.
